As a Room Manager, you will play a vital leadership role within the nursery, guiding your room team to deliver outstanding care, learning, and development for every child while upholding the values and standards of Bridges Day Nursery.

Bridges Day Nursery is built on a calm and welcoming environment, where every child is treated as an individual and given the opportunity to thrive. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), with a strong focus on learning through play, positive relationships, and rich early experiences.
In this role, you will:

Lead the planning and delivery of child-initiated and adult-led activities that reflect children’s interests and developmental needs

Oversee high-quality observations, assessments, and planning in line with the EYFS
-
Act as a role model for best practice in teaching, care, and safeguarding
-
Support and mentor room staff, including apprentices and new starters
-
Undertake the role of key person for a group of children and support staff with key person responsibilities
-
Ensure care routines are carried out with dignity, respect, and consistency
-
Promote children’s language, literacy, numeracy, and social development through purposeful play
-
Support children through transitions, including settling in, room moves, and school readiness
-
Build strong, professional relationships with parents and carers
-
Ensure safeguarding, welfare, and wellbeing remain a top priority at all times
-
Work closely with the management team to maintain high standards across the nursery
-
Contribute to continuous improvement through reflection, training, and professional development

Work in a non-discriminatory way to ensure all children have equal access to opportunities

Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS and nursery policies

Lead, motivate, and support your room team

Plan, monitor, and evaluate learning experiences effectively

Ensure accurate record keeping, observations, and assessments

Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment

Monitor ratios and support daily room organisation
-
Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and compliance procedures
-
Support staff performance through supervision and day-to-day guidance
-
Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
-
Work collaboratively with senior leaders to support the wider nursery

​​About you

Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or equivalent) is essential
-
Previous experience in a senior or room leader role is preferred
-
Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development
-
Confident in leading and supporting a team

Organised, reliable, and professional

Passionate about high-quality early years education

Committed to safeguarding and promoting children’s wellbeing
-
Strong communication skills with staff, parents, and professionals
-
A driver is preferred due to the rural location, though we are within walking distance of Headcorn train station
